Equip: AI briefing and guardrails for leadership teams

Equip is where your leadership team gets a shared, plain view of AI before anything is built. It's two fixed-fee products: The Exco Briefing, two hours on your own documents, and The Guardrails, your AI policy, risk view and rollout rules in three weeks.

The Exco Briefing · two hours
The Guardrails · three weeks

Before you can clear the layers, leadership has to see them.

Where should an exco start with AI?

With The Exco Briefing: two hours, and an exco that can say why AI, and where. It's for CEOs, MDs and exco members, up to 12 leaders in the room, usually within two weeks of booking.

  • A short questionnaire and a 30-minute discovery call before the session
  • A two-hour session for up to 12 leaders
  • Live demonstrations on your own documents and processes
  • A one-page note on where to look first, and a recommendation of where to diagnose first

Sometimes that recommendation is "not yet".

Are we allowed to use AI? What about POPIA?

The Guardrails gives you your AI policy, risk view and rollout rules, drafted, not deferred. It's for COOs, risk leads and the board, and it takes three weeks.

  • A review of how AI is being used across the business today
  • An AI use policy, including how personal information is handled under POPIA
  • A ranked risk register
  • Rollout guardrails: what can be used, by whom, on what data
  • A 90-minute walkthrough with your leadership team
  • A one-page summary for the board

It isn't legal advice, and we say so in the document. It ends, like the briefing, with a recommendation of where to diagnose first.

People aren't waiting for a policy. In KPMG and the University of Melbourne's 2025 study, 86% of South African employees said they intentionally use AI at work. Of those who use it, 48% said they had used it in ways that contravene policies and guidelines.

Why does Equip come before a diagnostic?

A tool that doesn't reach the core becomes another layer. Equip makes sure the people deciding what to buy can see what's in the way first, so the first build is aimed at the right process.

What happens after Equip?

You'll have a recommendation of where to diagnose first. Usually that's one process, through The Transect, one process, or the whole operation, through The Transect.

Do we need to prepare anything?

Only the questionnaire and a 30-minute call before the briefing. For The Guardrails, we'll ask for any policies you already have and time with the people who use AI tools today.

Tell us what you're working around, and we'll come back to you within two working days.
